Hello LaFans! Well Our Leah has been busy......Leah has preformed at Seattle’s 18th annual AIDS walk on September 26th (link to an article http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/192550_aidswalk27.html) and also performed at a fundraiser for the Seattle School District (link to an article http://www.butchblum.com/dance.htm). We also got another message from Sia and she sent pictures this time!!!! Here is what she said…….
The first picture (Leah with a guitar) was at the AIDS Walk in Seattle . Yes, she did play her brand-new guitar which she got for her 18th Birthday from her father. She learned how to play on her own ...and in three weeks or less she played live at the AIDS walk.
The second picture was at the big Fundraiser for Seattle School District (for the music program), where she sang one song and did a cameo appearance. Leah also gave an award to the Bandleader for Garfield's Jazz Band, who won the best High School jazz band in the country two years in a row ...and even went to Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland . The band and the Bandleader have gotten a lot of recognition in Seattle --and in the jazz field.
What else?
We are leaving next Friday for North Carolina for Leah to record a couple of songs with Lisa Leuschner on her albums ( the second one is a Christmas album). So, there... Leah is working on her own demo as well.
Leah is flying down to North Carolina today and the Leah duet with Lisa will be on Lisa's debut album not her Christmas album (that bit of information was confirmed by Craig...who is in direct contact with Lisa's mother). So everyone needs to check out Lisa's album to hear the duet! They don't have a set date as of right now, but Craig said that it would be out around Christmas...that's if the production goes as planned! We will let all of you know as soon as there is a date set.
